Regarding the Announcement of an Open Competition to Fill Academic Positions at the Faculty of Medicine of LLC Unilevel University

Based on Paragraph 2 of Article 32, Article 34, and Paragraphs 1-5 of Article 35 of the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”; Paragraph 10 of the Statutes of LLC Unilevel University; the “Regulations of LLC Unilevel University”; the “Rules for Selection, Workload, and Remuneration of the Affiliated Academic Personnel of LLC Unilevel University”; and the Official Memo № 002-008 of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine,

I ORDER:

1. An open competition shall be announced on May 25, 2026, to fill academic positions for the English-medium Medical Doctor (MD) educational program at the Faculty of Medicine of LLC Unilevel University (hereinafter – the University), for 23 (twenty-three) staff units, according to the following data:

  • A) Basic Medical Disciplines: Associate Professor – 2 (two) staff units, Assistant Professor – 2 (ორი) staff units.

    • Directions: Anatomy, Physiology, Histology/Embryology, Medical Physics/Biophysics.

  • B) Pre-clinical Disciplines: Assistant Professor – 2 (two) staff units.

    • Directions: Microbiology, Immunology, Clinical Skills.

  • C) Clinical Disciplines:

    • C.a) Professor – 1 (one) staff unit.

      • Directions: Surgery (General Surgery), Pediatrics.

    • C.b) Associate Professor – 5 (five) staff units, Assistant Professor – 9 (nine) staff units, Assistant – 2 (two) staff units.

      • Directions: General Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Angiosurgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Family Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Traumatology and Orthopedics, Urology, Oncology, Emergency Medicine.

2. The documentation to be submitted electronically by candidates to participate in the competition is defined as follows:

  • Personal Application (Annex №1 of the Order);

  • Copy of ID/Passport;

  • CV (Resume), including a list of published scientific works;

  • Copy of the document certifying the relevant academic degree;

  • Specialty Certificate (in the case of clinical disciplines);

  • Relevant document certifying proficiency in the English language;

  • Certificates issued by the LEPL Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia “On conviction for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability” and “On the deprivation of rights”;

  • One scientific work which, in the candidate’s opinion, best demonstrates their research skills.

3. Evaluation of the personal data of the candidates participating in the competition shall be conducted by the Competition Commission established by the Order of the University Rector. The following primary criteria shall be considered when making decisions:

  • A) Professor:

    • A person holding a Ph.D. or an equivalent academic degree who has:

    • At least 6 (six) years of scientific-pedagogical working experience;

    • In the case of clinical disciplines – an additional specialty certificate and at least the last 9 (nine) years of clinical experience;

    • The number and quality of scientific publications (especially during the last 5 years).

  • B) Associate Professor:

    • A Ph.D. or an equivalent academic degree;

    • At least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical working experience;

    • In the case of clinical disciplines – an additional specialty certificate and at least the last 5 years of clinical experience;

    • The number and quality of scientific publications (especially during the last 5 years).

  • C) Assistant Professor:

    • A Ph.D. or an equivalent academic degree;

    • In the case of clinical disciplines – an additional specialty certificate and at least the last 3 years of clinical experience;

    • The number and quality of scientific publications (especially during the last 5 years).

  • D) Assistant:

    • A doctoral student (Ph.D. candidate) of a doctoral program in the relevant direction.

Additional Qualification Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in an English-medium program; OR

  • Conducting medical practice in English in a clinic operating abroad for at least 1 year; OR

  • Conducting teaching/research activities in English in the direction of biomedicine in a research institution operating abroad for at least 1 year; OR

  • Completion of an English-medium undergraduate or postgraduate program (confirmed by the relevant document); OR an international certificate confirming English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, UNIcert, EnglishScore, etc.).

4. The competition must comply with the principles of transparency, equality, and fair competition.

5. The competition announcement shall be published on the University’s official website www.unilevel.ge and on www.jobs.ge.

6. The acceptance of applications for the competition shall take place from June 26, 2026, to June 30, 2026, inclusive, at the following electronic addresses: info@unilevel.ge, hr@unilevel.ge.

7. Stages of the Competition:

  • First Stage: Initial evaluation of the contestants’ documentation by the Competition Commission: July 1-2, 2026;

  • Second Stage: Interview with the contestants selected as a result of the documentation review: July 3-6, 2026;

  • Third Stage: Demonstration lecture-presentation: July 7–10, 2026;

  • Fourth Stage: Making the initial decision: July 13-14, 2026;

  • Fifth Stage: Appeals period: July 15-16, 2026;

  • Sixth Stage: Consideration of appeals: July 17, 2026;

  • Seventh Stage: Making the final decision: July 20, 2026.

8. The results of the competition shall be announced on July 21, 2026, on the University’s official website www.unilevel.ge.

9. Competition documents submitted by contestants shall be processed in compliance with the rules provided by the Law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection,” solely for the purposes arising from this Order.

10. The Public Relations Department of the University shall be tasked with posting this Order and the competition announcement on the University’s official website.

11. The Human Resources Management Department of the University shall be tasked with posting the competition announcement on the website www.jobs.ge.

12. The Order shall enter into force upon signature.

13. The Order may be appealed within one month of its issuance at the Tbilisi City Court (Address: 64, David Agmashenebeli Alley, Tbilisi).
